OUR TEAM

The character of our country is shaped by who we look up to and what we consider to be great and honorable. Young men and women of quality seek to emulate what is honored by the community, and so it is important that they have the best examples in front of them and that they know that those whom they care for - parents and teachers primarily - similarly honor those examples.

Furthermore, students are better able to judge their current political culture and representatives if they understand real greatness. When they are called upon to join a political, cultural, or social conversation, they may find themselves falling back on vague or ill-defined arguments, such as “the founders would have said…” or “the Constitution says…” However, without specific examples, these arguments ring hollow to anyone who is not already convinced of them. In order to contribute meaningfully to conversations about political and civic life, we must know things. Specifically, if we are to evaluate whether something in our own lives as just, right, or honorable, we must be able to compare it or contrast it with something else. It happens that, as a model for this kind of thinking, these stories are among the very best. We find in them - and we hope to share with you - examples of true greatness.
